Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) persons in Uzbekistan face legal challenges not experienced by non-LGBT residents. Sex between two men is illegal in Uzbekistan. Punishment ranges from a fine to 3 years in prison.
Uzbekistan is one of just two post-Soviet states in which male homosexual activity remains criminalised, along with Turkmenistan.
