Kahla (German: [ˈkaːla] ) is a town in the Saale-Holzland district, in Thuringia, Germany. It is situated on the river Saale, 14 km south of Jena.

In May 2012, the lawyer Claudia Nissen was elected mayor. Before C. Nissen, Bernd Leube has been the mayor for 22 years.
