- 2 June 1972 - Victor Husband (23) and Brian Robertson (23), both members of the British Army, were killed in a Provisional Irish Republican Army (IRA) land mine attack on their foot patrol, near Rosslea.
1980
- 11 February 1980 - Joseph Rose (21) and Winston Howe (35), both members of the Royal Ulster Constabulary, were killed in an IRA land mine attack on their mobile patrol on Lisnaskea Road, near Rosslea.
1986
- 26 April 1986 - Séamus McElwaine (26), an IRA volunteer from Knockacullion, near Scotstown, County Monaghan, was shot dead by the British Army's Special Air Service.[1][2]
1989
- 13 December 1989 - Michael Paterson (21) and James Houston (23), both members of the British Army, were killed in an IRA gun, grenade and bomb attack on the permanent British Army vehicle checkpoint at Derryard, near Rosslea.
