Steve Bencich is an American screenwriter and film director best known for his work with writing partner Ron J. Friedman.

Bencich and Friedman have collaborated on screenplays for several animated films, including Brother Bear, Chicken Little, and Open Season. DreamWorks has purchased their comedy screenplay Gullible's Travels, about a gullible man who travels in time in a portable toilet.[1]

In 2019 he wrote and directed his debut feature "Wish Upon A Unicorn" for Universal 1440. The film premiered to controversial reviews due to repeated sexualization of the child actors.
