The National Speech and Debate Association is an American student debating society. It was established in 1925 as the National Forensic League; the name was changed in 2014.[1] It is one of four major national organizations that direct high school competitive speech and debate events in the United States, the others being the National Catholic Forensic League, the National Christian Forensics and Communications Association, and Stoa. The association provides competitive speech and debate activities, resources, training, scholarship opportunities, and advanced recognition to students at middle school, high school and college level. Members are expected to abide by the Code of Honor adopted on September 23, 2007.[2]

The biggest event that the NSDA puts on is the National Tournament. This tournament invites students who qualify from participating districts all around the USA to compete over the course of multiple days. Prior locations include Salt Lake City, Kansas City, Dallas, Fort Lauderdale, Birmingham, and more.
