Montanna Shakira Thompson (born 5 November 1988)[1] is an English actress. She is best known for her role as Justine Littlewood in the popular CBBC children's series, The Story of Tracy Beaker (2002–2005). Thompson reprised her role as Justine in Tracy Beaker Returns (2012) and My Mum Tracy Beaker (2021–present).
Career
Thompson's first television appearance was in 1998, in the BBC mini-series Close Relations in which she played the role of Allegra. In 2000, she went on to appear in The Queen's Nose, in which she appeared as Emily, a foster home resident.[2]
In 2002, Thompson began appearing as Justine Littlewood in the CBBC series The Story of Tracy Beaker, based on the Jacqueline Wilson book of the same name. Justine was introduced in the first episode as the arch-enemy of the title character, Tracy Beaker (Dani Harmer). Thompson appeared as a main character in the first three series and as a recurring character in series 4, when she goes to live with her dad and stepmother. In series 5, Justine returns to the Dumping Ground and reignites her feud with Tracy and clashes with new roommate Rebecca Chalmers (Georgina Hagen). At the end of the series, Justine and Tracy make amends and Justine goes to spend the weekend with her dad after being convinced to give him another chance. In 2012, Thompson reprised her role as Justine Littlewood in the seventh episode of the third series of Tracy Beaker Returns.[3] Justine returns to the Dumping Ground six years later to ask Mike to give her away at her wedding, However Tracy, who now works as a care worker believes she is back to brag about her successful career as an estate agent. The feud between the pair is reignited and tensions boil over when Justine starts interfering with the children in care. The end of the episode sees Justine praise Tracy for her work in care and departs once again. Thompson will again reprise her role in the 2021 series, My Mum Tracy Beaker.[4]
