Highland Springs High School (HSHS) is located on the East End of Henrico County, Virginia. HSHS is one of the first high schools established in the Greater Richmond Region.[2]

Renovations

The renovation process started in 2006 and was completed in August 2008. The renovation was stated to be mainly for the purpose of building modernization. Under the renovations, the windows, floors, walls, electrical system, and heating and air systems were replaced, and a new wing was created for the English department. The main office was also renovated, and was moved to the front of the building. A new surveillance system was added to address safety concerns. The guidance department was renovated and relocated to the main hallway where the main office used to be.

In 2018, the County of Henrico announced its plans to completely replace the high school. The County intends to complete the construction of the new Highland Springs High School in time for the 2021-2022 school year. The estimated of the cost of the new school will be $80 million.[3]
