George Stanford "Stan" Smith (August 13, 1917 – November 16, 2007) was a National Hockey League player for the New York Rangers. He was born in Coal Creek, British Columbia.

He made his debut in the 1939–40 season, making him one of the first British Columbians to play in the NHL. Smith played his first NHL game in the Stanley Cup Finals for the New York Rangers, helping them win the cup. He qualified to be included on the cup, but his name was left off by mistake. NHL still credits Smith as winning one Stanley Cup. The next year he played in eight games regular season games recording three points.

Stan Smith died in 2007 in Fernie, BC, where he had resided in retirement.[1][2]
