The rusty-belted tapaculo, Liosceles thoracicus, is a species of bird in the family Rhinocryptidae. It was first described by Philip Lutley Sclater in 1865.[2] It is monotypic within the genus Liosceles.[2] It is found in Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru,[1] where its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest.[3]
