List of Patriarchs of Eritrea

This is a list of the Abunas of Eritrea, the head of the Eritrean Orthodox Tewahedo Church. The church is one of the Oriental Orthodox Church communion, autonomous to the Coptic Patriarch of Alexandria.

  • Yacob (2002–2003)
  • Antonios (2003–2006), deposed by the Eritrean government (Still recognized as canonical Patriarch by the Eritrean Churches in Diaspora and by Oriental Orthodox Churches)
  • Dioskoros (2006–2015) (unrecognized as canonical Patriarch by the Eritrean Churches in Diaspora and by Oriental Orthodox Churches)
