Sze Irene Ng (黃敏) on July 30, 1974) is an American actress and preschool teacher. She is best known for her role as Shelby Woo on The Mystery Files of Shelby Woo.
Biography
Early life
Ng moved from Malaysia to Allentown, Pennsylvania in 1989, at age 15, with her parents, sister and brother. She attended Allentown's William Allen High School. At the age of 16, she was discovered by television agents when she won a Pennsylvania beauty contest.
Career
Ng has had starring roles on All My Children, The Mystery Files of Shelby Woo, and Figure It Out. She has guest starred on Law & Order and Teen Angel. She also has appeared in several movies, including The Joy Luck Club, Oliver Stone's Heaven & Earth and The Sterling Chase.
After leaving her acting career behind her, Ng pursued her education, and is a graduate of Harvard University. She was formerly a banker for Merrill Lynch. She married David Rosa in July 2008.[1] Today Irene is a preschool teacher at Mencius Mandarin Preschool.[2] She lives in Greenwich, Connecticut.
