Bruford Levin Upper Extremities is the self-titled debut (and only) studio album of the band Bruford Levin Upper Extremities, formed by bassist Tony Levin and drummer Bill Bruford. Levin and Bruford had worked together as the rhythm section of King Crimson (from 1981-1984 and again from 1994-1997). The group also included guitarist David Torn and trumpeter Chris Botti. Torn, Bruford and Levin had recorded together in a similar line-up on Torn's album Cloud About Mercury with trumpeter Mark Isham ten years earlier.[3]
